Joana Valente, a visual artist from Porto who has been collaborating with the Inaugurações Simultâneas event since 2019, developing work in the fields of accessibility to the arts and entrepreneurship for inclusion, actively participates in the event by presenting her individual project “Abraçar o Mundo” and leading an activity for children.
In addition to exploring the themes of recycling and the circular use of materials, transforming discarded objects into supports for artistic experimentation, this proposal invites participants to reflect on human diversity, empathy, and the creation of spaces of belonging.
Suitable for all ages.
No prior knowledge required.
Materials will be provided at the event venue on the day.
Free participation, subject to venue capacity.
Location: Miguel Bombarda Pedestrian Area, near number 598.
As the activities of Inaugurações Simultâneas constitute the first project dedicated to urban culture in the city of Porto, active continuously and uninterruptedly since 2007, conceived for public space and community engagement, with creative practitioners based in Porto and reflecting the specific characteristics of this territory, from the Miguel Bombarda Quarter, in dialogue with the city and welcoming thousands of participants at each of its six annual editions, we seek to stimulate creativity and individual, civic, and community expression in a welcoming and accessible environment. More than an event, over the years Inaugurações Simultâneas has been building a true creative community and affirming Porto’s cultural identity.
In a spirit of celebration of the arts, respecting different rhythms of participation and forms of communication, we create inclusive experiences where everyone feels valued and can participate in a comfortable, meaningful, and enjoyable way.
