An introduction to the traditional Japanese craft of wara-zaiku, the art of working with rice straw, deeply rooted in rural life and spiritual practice.
Originating from Hinokage, this workshop is presented by Wara-zaiku Takubo and led by master artisan Yoichiro Kai, whose work preserves and reinterprets ancestral techniques used to create sacred ornaments.
Through a video session, participants will be guided into this meticulous and meditative process, discovering the symbolism, gestures, and cultural significance behind each form.
