The years 2021 and 2022 have served for Unsafe Space Garden to blossom into a musical garden that is increasingly capable of communicating and relating to an audience that staggers between confusion and rapture. By mixing their peculiar form of existential protest with the ingredients of humour, energy, colour, absurdity, chaos and intimacy, the moment of confrontation takes on the quality of an "experience" and is no longer just "another concert". It was in translating 'Bro, You Got Something In Your Eye - A Guided Meditation' to stages all over the country that "Unsafe" created an echo that is now impossible to ignore and which paved the way for the release of their latest LP "WHERE'S THE GROUND?", released by gig.ROCKS! in partnership with Discos de Platão.
If BYGSIYE was about human perception, now it's about the search for unity - for the common ground - much like when we're children in the playground. Unsafe Space Garden wants to prove to us that we are responsible for our ability to see novelty, we are the ones who protect it, we are the ones who let ourselves get bored - or not. The 'Zappian' matrix remains in the genetic code, but only as an initial impulse. Now they use hammonds to beatify humour and harmonise their voices endlessly so that nothing is ever taken for granted. Spoken word ? Yes, there's that too. There's that and guitar solos, alternating between Portuguese and English, a hilarious moment with the aid of a GPS and slippery synthesisers always accompanied by the effusive joy of children who have never abandoned their hearts.
