Solo Blues is an individual dance practice rooted in the African American musical and cultural traditions of the Blues. Through movement, it explores the relationship with music, rhythm, groove, improvisation and individual expression.
Led by Edmilson Botelho, these regular intermediate classes are designed for dancers with previous experience and offer an opportunity to deepen their Blues dance vocabulary, musicality, improvisation and different movement qualities.
The classes encourage a more conscious and personal relationship with the music, exploring different rhythms and forms of expression while remaining connected to the historical roots and cultural context of these dances.
An initiative by Associação Bamu Zunta Mon, in Porto.
