The Suggia International Prize brings some of Europe’s most promising young cellists to Porto, representing prestigious schools and conservatories. After the preliminary round recitals in Room 2, three finalists take to the stage of the Suggia Room alongside the Symphony Orchestra, performing demanding concertos for cello and orchestra. The final will be conducted by Jan Wierzba, one of the most active conductors on the Portuguese music scene.
