After a stint with Grupo Académico Seistetos, the four young men from Évora decided to take their music further.
To do so, they launched a brilliant digital marketing strategy on their social media accounts—Starting a band from scratch to the Coliseu—which has proven to be a huge success.
The band, which was formed in early 2025, released their first single, “Pôr do Sol,” at the end of March, which quickly became the song of the year, remaining at #1 on Spotify and Airplay for several consecutive months, with tens of millions of streams and quickly achieving Triple Platinum status.
This was followed by “Pobre Ex-Namorado” (Poor Ex-Boyfriend), and if there were any doubts, these Vizinhos (Neighbors) were here to stay.
The song quickly reached #2 on the Spotify Top and Airplay Top charts (just behind Pôr do Sol), achieved Platinum status, and millions of streams and views.
The relevance of the band Évora continued to assert itself on stage, with more than 50 concerts in 2025 alone, the phenomenal band filled every venue they played to capacity with huge crowds. They conquered the Festival do Crato, Festival F, Arraial do Técnico, Festa das Latas de Coimbra, Receção ao Caloiro de Castelo Branco, among many others.
After the summer, they released the perfect song to kick off the fall, “Casar É Para Esquecer” (Marriage Is Forgetting). The song, which portrays the way many relationships are lived today, immediately won over the public, entering directly into Spotify's Top 50.
With their Alentejo DNA and great authenticity, Vizinhos have won over audiences not only with their songs, which become instant hits, but also with their live performances, where David Mendonça (vocals and accordion), Tomás Cartaxo (vocals and guitar), Francisco Cartaxo (vocals and mandolin), and Miguel Brites (bass and vocals) create a huge connection with those who see them. Through their simplicity and empathy, Vizinhos have a huge impact on the “neighborhood.”
