Originally from Manchester, Maruja presents an explosive mix of jazz, experimental music, punk and hip hop, with an approach to social and political themes and an absolutely energetic stage presence that has made Maruja a band highly praised by both critics and audiences.

The release of their debut album on September 12, after 3 highly acclaimed EPs, is one of the most anticipated moments of 2025.

Maruja came to Portugal with Crowdmusic in 2024 for 2 sold-out shows in Porto and Lisbon. Their return is expected to celebrate the new album and bring immense energy. Maruja engages the audience in their shows, which either launch into a seemingly chaotic and energetic sound, or delve into a more atmospheric and psychedelic calm.
