In the year marking the centenary of the birth of Portuguese composer Carlos Paredes, guitarists and composers José Peixoto and Nuno Cintrão pay tribute to the immortal legacy of his music. Drawing from the references, inspirations, and shared affinities developed in their duo Combinatorium — with whom they released the album Fragmentos Imaginários (2022) — the musicians now set out to explore and reinvent the sonic universe of the master of the Portuguese guitar.

VISITA is an encounter with Carlos Paredes, in all that the very act of visiting entails: meeting and being with someone, and the effect that meeting has on us, both as greeting and remembrance. In this VISITA, the desire for homage is strengthened through a dialogue with the creation of new musical interpretations, fusing the languages of classical and electric guitar, and extending the challenge already embedded in Paredes’ themes — works that were, in themselves, profoundly innovative.
