Inaugurações Simultâneas continues, once again, to be part of the Cultural Programme of the City of Porto, with a new event taking place on January 24, 2026, in the Miguel Bombarda Cultural Quarter — Porto’s first Creative Hub, active since 2007 and one of the city’s most emblematic cultural territories.

This event marks the 1st edition of 2026, corresponding to the 19th edition of the annual programme and the 111th event since the project’s creation.

Each edition of Inaugurações Simultâneas involves, on average, 50 to 55 public and private entities directly connected to the conception, production, and implementation of the event, reflecting a collaborative, network-based working model deeply rooted in the territory.

Currently, Inaugurações Simultâneas is represented by 22 Contemporary Art Galleries, a diverse public programme for the public space, and community-based artistic practice activities, especially designed to respond to the specificities of this territory — Porto’s Arts Quarter.

All activities are free and open to the public.

In each edition, the event welcomes thousands of visitors, including local, national, and international audiences — many of whom plan their visit to Porto specifically to coincide with the dates of Inaugurações Simultâneas — as well as schools on guided visits (from other cities), general audiences, and specialist audiences.

Inaugurações Simultâneas thus stands as a structuring project of Porto’s cultural life and identity, promoting democratic access to culture, strengthening the contemporary artistic ecosystem, and continuously enhancing the Miguel Bombarda Cultural Quarter as a reference creative territory.

The general and artistic direction, conception, project management, programming, communication, and audience engagement strategies have been led by designer Ana Alves da Silva since 2007, through the municipal company Ágora — a formally developed, uninterrupted, and continuous trajectory — celebrating 19 years of activity in 2026.
