MEMORABÍLIA
Alma d'Arame (PT)

There are certain objects, utilitarian in nature and used in everyday life, that define generations and reveal the cultural, social, and economic transformations that take place in societies. Despite being ordinary, these objects inhabit not only our collective memory, but also individual memories. Thus, a mass-produced object acquires a particular symbolism for each spectator.

In MEMORABÍLIA, the object/performer relationship is enhanced by manipulation, image projection, and real-time sound illustration. The physical venue where the performance takes place is thus reconstructed in the digital space, thereby generating a diversity of scales and viewpoints that gradually transform ordinary objects into acts of pure unpredictability.

With this show, the Alentejo-based collective Alma d’Arame will once again explore the relationships between the theatre of animated forms and multimedia—a research that took one of its most decisive steps in Solitária, presented at fimp’19.
