Introduction to Extreme Puppetry: improvising on a three person operated puppet

In this two-day workshop, participants will learn how to improvise with three puppeteers working together on the same puppet, using a special technique developed by Blind Summit Theatre, based on Japanese Bunraku.

During the workshop, participants will learn how to guide a puppet and follow it with their breath, how to guide it and follow it with their hands, and how to bring it to life individually, in pairs, and in triplets. They will learn when and how to guide the different parts of the puppet’s body so that it moves, speaks, and acts. They will also practice improvisation and create short scenes with the puppets.
