Festival Velatura is an international magic festival taking place for the first time in the city of Porto, on October 3rd and 4th. It proposes magic as the central theme for a weekend of workshops, performances and gatherings.

With a strong focus on specialised training, the festival seeks to create a space for learning, sharing and questioning. Through lectures led by international practitioners, Velatura positions itself as a meeting point for professional and pre-professional magicians, while keeping its doors open to anyone interested in learning more about magic.

The festival also presents a programme of performances that seeks to build a relationship with the city and the community that hosts it. It aims to showcase artists working within the Portuguese context, bring magic to new audiences and involve the local community in artistic projects taking place in their own territory. To support this aim, the festival has established a partnership with the Campo Alegre Residents’ Association.

More than a festival, Velatura presents itself as a space for the magic community to connect — a place where knowledge is shared, methodologies intersect and new connections are built between artists, audiences and territories.
