Bestiário // A Quimera concludes the Bestiário triptych, an artistic research project by Esquiva Companhia de Dança. Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Little Mermaid, the production dives into the deep waters of desire, transformation, and the search for identity. On stage, dance, physical theatre, puppetry, original music, video, and set design construct an ever-metamorphosing universe, questioning the limits of the body, the cost of desire, and the quest for a place of belonging.

Os Encontros Magriços is a masterclass designed for students, emerging artists, and performing arts professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of contemporary creation processes and interdisciplinary practices.

Over the course of two late afternoons, the creators and performers of Bestiário // Quimera will share the methods, tools, and artistic choices that shaped the production. Drawing on the experience gathered while on tour, the sessions will explore the various stages of creation—from initial research to movement composition, puppetry manipulation, visual dramaturgy, sound design, and the construction of the scenic space.

Each session combines practical experimentation, demonstrations of methodologies, and discussion, offering direct engagement with the research and collaborative processes underpinning an interdisciplinary work.

More than just a presentation of the show, this masterclass provides a space for sharing, reflection, and experimentation, tailored for those wishing to develop their artistic practice through dialogue with the creators and hands-on experience with diverse working methodologies.
