Earlier this year, we watched a solar eclipse here in Porto, and for the past few months our artist Margarita has been thinking about creating a workshop inspired by this experience

So let’s paint a solar eclipse, but not just a circle on a black background:) We’re going back to the early 2000s, when Photoshop was still new and artists were creating dreamy, fantasy space landscapes. Using professional gouache, we’ll recreate that digital aesthetic on paper. It seems a little weird, but it'll be a lot of fun and creativity!

You don’t need any experience to join. Beginners are very welcome, and all materials are provided. We’ll work step by step, from the first sketch to the final glowing highlights.

In this workshop you will:

• Paint a dramatic solar eclipse by hand
• Recreate the iconic early-2000s digital style
• Learn simple techniques for glows, flares, and smooth gradients
• Meet other creatives
• Take home your own eclipse painting on paper
