Returning to Portugal after emigrating to Switzerland with her family before she reached adolescence, Joana Torres made her debut as a fado singer in 2022 at the Fado Português venue in Gaia. Her voice, full of emotion and authenticity, catapulted her to regular performances at some of Porto’s most prestigious fado houses and, a year later, she was invited to join the cast of the show Fado Sem Tempo, a project bringing together different generations and approaches to fado. In 2024, she took a step beyond borders with a celebrated performance in the French city of Nemours. Since then, she has graced the most emblematic national stages, before increasingly large and enthusiastic audiences.
