Discover a unique technique that combines watercolour painting with hand embroidery. In this workshop, we will explore how to create a watercolour illustration and enhance it with embroidery stitches.

By layering thread onto painted paper, you will learn how to introduce texture, dimension, and a subtle 3D surface to your artwork. This process blends fine art and textile techniques, allowing colours and stitches to work together to bring your piece to life.

We will start with a watercolour drawing and then add hand embroidery to highlight shapes, create texture, and give the artwork depth and character.

No previous experience is required, and all materials are included.

Guided by fashion designer, Anabela Lourenço, come spend an evening at MACS to experiment with colour, thread, and texture while creating a beautifully textured mixed-media piece.
