Helena Rocio Janeiro holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Escola Superior Artística do Porto. She lives and works on Rua do Breiner, in the Miguel Bombarda Quarter, Porto.
In May 2012, she created the collage project Coração o Ditador, in which she explores themes such as empathy, the symbolism of the collective unconscious, and the construction of a personal visual poetics. Her work develops from original images from the late 19th and 20th centuries, selected from magazines, newspapers, and books, which she recontextualizes through collage.
