On June 20, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Goethe‑Institut Portugal in Porto opens its doors to celebrate summer with a lively German-style “Arraial” that blends German traditions with the festive spirit of Portugal. In a relaxed atmosphere, the event brings together cinema, music, gastronomy, games, and activities for all ages.
 
The program kicks off with an informal gathering for those who speak or are learning German, followed by a second-hand book fair and sessions about studying in Germany. Throughout the afternoon, the outdoor space comes alive with traditional games, workshops, German specialties, and a trial German language class.
 
The film Tandem – In Which Language Do You Dream? (DE/BE/FR, 2024, directed by Claire Burger) will also be screened, exploring themes of identity and intercultural communication.
 
The celebration culminates with a raffle featuring many prizes, a street dance performance, and a vibrant DJ set, ensuring great energy until the end of the evening. With a strong social dimension, the event supports projects by help alliance Portugal, reinforcing its commitment to inclusion and education.
