In this multi-channel audiovisual installation, the artist duo set out to tell the whole story of the transformation of a cemented space (CCOP in Porto), which was much more than the renovation of around 30 square meters: in addition to working with the members who collaborated in the initiative and developed or recovered forgotten learning, the intervention functions as a metaphor for thinking about the relationship that humans establish with the natural world. The installation to be presented doesn't just tell the story: it is also an artistic object.
Cycle "Ground, earth, people" at MIRA
The MIRA galleries - MIRA FORUM, Espaço MIRA and MIRA | performing arts - are part of RPAC, the Portuguese Contemporary Art Network, which is supporting a project to be developed with three structures from other parts of the country: Colégio das Artes (Coimbra), Air 351 (Cascais) and Lugar do Desenho (Gondomar).
The theme agreed between the partners was "In Freedom" and MIRA FORUM is presenting its proposal, the cycle "GROUND, LAND AND PEOPLE" with three exhibitions opening on June 15. The cycle will continue with more exhibitions, two conferences, video presentations and other events until October.
Opening: June 15, 2024, 4pm
