In 2025, the centenary of Gérard Castello Lopes (1925–2011) — one of the greatest figures in Portuguese photography — is celebrated. The exhibition presents works from the National Photography Collection, highlighting two defining phases: the humanist gaze of the 1950s and 60s, and the abstract, formal approach developed from the 1980s onwards.
Between spontaneous gesture and rigorous composition, his singular legacy continues to challenge time, image, and reality.
