On Saturday, November 29, starting at 6:00 p.m., Avenida dos Aliados will be the meeting point for the inauguration of the large Christmas tree, installed in Praça do General Humberto Delgado. The event will feature a video mapping show, “Missão Nutcrackers, O Natal Chega à Cidade” (Nutcrackers Mission, Christmas Comes to Town), projected on the façade of Porto City Hall and with elements marking the entire length of Avenida dos Aliados.

On this day, the stage set up on Aliados will host the first major event of the program: a concert by Mariza, accompanied by the Porto Youth Orchestra, in a celebration like no other. The show is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.

Throughout December, the Aliados stage will welcome other renowned names from the national music scene, such as Capitão Fausto (December 7, 6:00 p.m., with the Costa Cabral Music Academy Orchestra) and Vizinhos (December 14, 6:00 p.m.).

The program also includes the final show of the municipal project Desporto no Bairro (Sports in the Neighborhood), with the participation of several national and international athletes and young people from the city's neighborhoods (December 20, 6:00 p.m.); and a concert by young artist Rita Rocha, with the participation of Guga (December 21, 6:00 p.m.).

All shows are free of charge and will be interpreted in Portuguese Sign Language.

The Cordoaria area is once again hosting some of the most popular events of the season. First of all, the Christmas Market returns to the João Chagas Garden, with seasonal products and gift ideas for the whole family.

The space also includes the traditional Santa's House, open to children and adults alike, as well as a space for workshops for the little ones – the so-called “Crystal Tent.”

Throughout this period, Cordoaria will also feature traveling entertainment, which will bring even more color and sparkle to this special season.

In Largo do Amor de Perdição, the usual Ice Rink and Parisian Carousel will be installed, attractions that promise to transport all those who want to experience these true seasonal delights.

The “Christmas Tent” will also be set up there, a space open to everyone, featuring new circus, dance, music, theater performances by city schools, and surprises for all generations.

This year, the Christmas Market will be open until December 30, with the following opening hours: Monday to Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Fridays and days before public holidays, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Sundays and holidays, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
