Over the past few months, a group of women living in Porto and its surroundings have come together regularly to creatively explore the question: “How much space, physical and symbolic, do women occupy in cities?”. The outcome of this process will gain public shape on June 29th, as a sound and performance-based experience, to be held at Campanhã Train Station in Porto. The performance will have two sessions, one at 6:00 PM and another at 8:00 PM, each lasting approximately one hour and a half. The experience will be conducted in Portuguese and is recommended for ages 12 and up.
The Invisible City – Cartography(ies) of Daily Routes was built from the mapping of the regular routes taken by the women involved, intertwining real observations, emotional sharing, and the imagination evoked by what we see, hear, and feel in public space, as well as by what we do not see, do not hear, and do not feel as we inhabit the city in our daily lives.
The project invites the audience to move through different areas of the station, guided by a sound composition that includes recordings made during the collective’s meetings and
