Follow artist Julieta Ruiz into an exploration of masks as tools for self acknowledgement and collective interaction. Emphasis will be placed on material construction (using various techniques and materials) and performative use.

Julieta Ruiz is an Argentine artist from the mountains of Córdoba. She is a curious and active person who has trained in sociology, art, and jewellry making. She has been researching mask objects from a multidisciplinary perspective, both theoretically and artistically. Thanks to her work in mask production, she came to Portugal in 2022 to participate in a residency at the Escola Nómada project, method ONE, TWO, AND MANY by artist Marta Wengorovius. From that experience, Julieta now resides in Portugal where she works as an artist and jeweller. She works with reused materials, engaging in a direct conversation with the environments and the people that inhabit them.
