In THE LAST DANCE, Hugo Cantegrel continues his exploration of the realms of dreams and collective memories. The exhibition brings together neon light sculptures, photographs printed on metal depicting an aeroplane tracing a sentence in the sky, and a series of ceramic basketballs. These elements, both familiar and strangely distant, evoke the suspension of time characteristic of the dream state. Between heaven and earth, the desire for elevation and gravity, Cantegrel questions the persistence of dreams in the face of reality, and the fragile beauty of the frozen gesture: that of the ‘last dance’.
