The ephemeral nature of sound is evident, as strata of sound emerge and then deteriorate, disintegrate and recombine, testing the boundaries of the organic, eroding physical and metaphorical structures, moving along the points of contact between improvised music, human or inhuman dispositions and social decay. "Corrosion" is the second album by this trio of improvisers, published in 2023 under the Porta-Jazz label, made up of two experienced musicians based in Porto and a multi-instrumentalist living in London, who is a prominent figure on the European experimental scene.

How noisy are the rooms?

An eclectic and provocative trio from three points in the centre of Europe - Germany, Switzerland and Austria - brought together within the experimental and improvised music that flourishes at the annual Bezau Beatz festival, with which Porta-Jazz has established an exchange. This year's proposal for the Porta-Jazz Festival includes the participation of these three leading European musicians, who in this project seek to test understanding of the different perspectives on sound, emitting a strong and constant energy with the elements colliding with each other in a sonic explosion. Expect creative anarchy, vocal sounds that evoke distant cultures, labyrinths of electronic manipulation and tireless ritualistic percussion.
