"Lichens, with their peculiar forms and unique biological processes, offer a rich universe of possibilities for exploration through animation — a powerful tool for science communication that brings complex concepts to life and transforms knowledge into engaging visual narratives.
In this week-long workshop, we will explore the world of lichens using stop motion and other animation techniques, such as clay modelling, cut-outs, natural materials, timelapse and digital illustration. We will go through all the stages of creating a short film: from planning and storyboard to image capture, sound design and editing.
In the end, the films produced will not only represent the creative work of the participants, but will also become part of the educational collection of the Botanical Garden, helping to promote and share the value of these living organisms with new audiences."
