“When design intersects with the internet, data, and typography, a new form of publishing is born.”
Ana Isabel Carvalho and Ricardo Lafuente run Manufactura Independente, an experimental design studio where they explore the intersections between publishing, the internet, data, typography, and software.
Publishing as a versatile and post-digital act is one of the guiding threads of their journey and the suggestion for the starting point of this conversation. Other points of interest may include Twitter bots as a mechanism for conceptual writing, alternative networks and tools for community publishing, or sharing and transparency as a creative and editorial methodology.
Moderated by Rossana Mendes Fonseca.
This event is part of the Pop-Up do Futuro program, an initiative included in Bombarda Digital, a project funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, led by the Municipality of Porto in partnership with Porto Digital, Associação Quarteirão Criativo, and AHRESP.
More than a cultural event, Pop-Up do Futuro is a meeting point for residents, visitors, merchants, and creators, consolidating Bombarda as a territory of innovation, diversity, and experimentation.
