“Art, robotics, and language: the creative future born from dialogue between humans and machines.”

Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be understood as the science that seeks to create machines capable of performing tasks that require human intelligence, such as learning, reasoning, or understanding language. Within AI, Machine Learning (ML) allows systems to learn from data and experiences, continuously improving. Large Language Models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, are language models trained on enormous amounts of text, capable of understanding and generating natural language, forming the basis of so-called generative AI. Today, these technologies are not only transforming science and industry, but also art and culture.

Generative AI allows us to create music, literature, painting, cinema, and multimedia experiences that challenge the limits of human imagination. In this initiative, we explore the role of AI as a creative tool, discussing how artists and machines can collaborate to expand aesthetic and narrative horizons. We will also address the ethical dilemmas of creation with AI, including authorship, copyright, originality, and cultural bias. Finally, we will reflect on how this creativity with AI and robotics could shape the future of culture, art, and human identity itself.

This event is part of the Pop-Up do Futuro program, an initiative included in Bombarda Digital, a project funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, led by the Municipality of Porto in partnership with Porto Digital, Associação Quarteirão Criativo, and AHRESP.

More than a cultural event, Pop-Up do Futuro is a meeting point for residents, visitors, merchants, and creators, consolidating Bombarda as a territory of innovation, diversity, and experimentation.
