Transport: Cargo shines a light on the burning issue of growing road freight traffic, which has increased by up to 30% in recent years. Every day, between 20 and 50 million lorries circulate on roads around the world. The performance takes us into the world of global trade, where speed and accessibility drive economic growth, while also having a negative impact, including the overexploitation of natural resources, environmental pollution, and the violation of labour rights.

The story follows a lorry driver under intense time pressure from his employer, while obstacles along the route only add to his mounting stress. A chance encounter during the night leads to a shocking event the following morning, prompting a profound reflection on moral and ethical questions and, above all, on our own responsibility as dwellers of a hyper-consumerist, exploitative, and exhausting world.

Following Still Life in 2021, Slovenian director Tin Grabnar returns to fimp with Transport, a project that, in this edition, takes the form of three different productions. Cargo also marks the debut of the Maribor Puppet Theatre in our country.
