Created for TOP-Teatro de Objetos do Porto in 2023 and since then included in the Arquivo Zombie (Zombie Archives), this is a short performance featuring a controversial character originating in Portuguese cuisine: ‘tripa enfarinhada’ (floured tripe). Relished by some, deemed disgusting by many, it is used in popular recipes such as ‘rojões’ (fried pork cubes), although it can also be served on its own (fried and sprinkled with cumin, for instance)—a truly enigmatic snack. When displayed in the butcher’s window, it generates striking surreal landscapes... This is a very peculiar tripe indeed—and quite a sensitive tripe too. Enjoy your meal!
