We are back with a new workshop: an invitation to rethink and (de)construct traditional processes of photography. With artist Rita de Almeida Leite, we dive into a territory where the image has no defined contours, but instead opens in nuances, stains, and colors in constant transformation.

The chemigram is part of the alternative processes of cameraless photography, where the image is created without a camera, only from the direct action of chemistry on paper. Unlike traditional photographic development, which follows precise rules to give form to a photograph, here the freedom of stain, chance, and experimentation prevails. The preparation of chemicals becomes the starting point for creation, and each gesture turns into an individual experimentation, unique and unrepeatable.

This workshop is divided into 2 sessions:

1st session (Oct 9):
- introduction to the chemigram process, alternative processes and cameraless photography;
- photographic development and distinction between photography/traditional development process vs. chemigram;
- preparation of chemicals.

2nd session (Oct 10):
- individual exploration of the process, using everyday objects for the creation of chemigrams;
- collective exploration.
