García de Marina (Gijón, Spain, 1975) uses objects as a means of expression. A careful reflection on these objects and their multiple possibilities for associative connections — whether intentional or accidental — allows him to imbue his images with narratives and meanings that place his work within the creative field of visual poetry.
Over the past decade, his work has been exhibited around the world as part of major curatorial projects in renowned institutions, as well as in some of the leading international photography festivals. He now presents Innocents in Portugal for the first time — his most socially engaged series.
At a time when we witness daily the escalation of armed conflicts, inequality, and discrimination, Innocents conveys the urgent need to continue defending the values of freedom, justice, and peace. — Aitor Martínez Valdajos, curator of the exhibition
