Monster

Nuno Baltazar
Fiction: 22’ / Coming of Age, Friendship, Gay, Harassment, Violence, Trauma

A summer heat wave sweeps Lisbon. 12-year-old Alex witnesses his best friend being assaulted, but an intimate secret keeps him from talking about what happened.

In the Blue Penumbra

Tomás Basilio
Fiction: 15’ / Coming of Age, Friendship, Gay

In the stillness of a small village, Miguel’s life is shaken by his sister’s departure. The emptiness she leaves behind becomes an inner journey, leading him through the blue darkness, a space where innocence and pain intertwine. Within this familiar and seemingly unchanging world, Miguel faces for the first time the fragility of his own existence.

The Red I Sowed

Sofia Afonso
Fiction: 15’ / Coming of Age, Religion, Lesbian

Teresa, a Catholic girl, is torn between the desire she thinks she feels for Maria, her longtime friend, and her faith, which she’s no longer sure she holds. Teresa is increasingly consumed by the world around her, by her confirmation dress and by the moment that is brewing in this closed space: the confession of her sin.

This Feminine Side

Alice Siniscalchi
Documentary, Animation: 7’ / Gender, Queer, Women

Set in Lisbon’s vibrant LGBTQIA+ art scene, this animated documentary layers voices, textures, and colours to explore femininity beyond the binary. Built through interviews and collaborative workshops, the film becomes a living collage where femininity is not fixed, but fluid, reimagined through community, creativity, and playful mixed-media animation.

Three of Cups

Mário Macedo, Enotea
Documentary, Fiction: 15’ / Queer, Community, Utopia

Three friends - a non-binary artist, a trans woman and a queer man - on a winter’s night in Berlin. A story about love, identity and change. A brief, poetic glimpse into the seasons of becoming that move mysteriously through the seasons of the year.

Filmmakers Tomás Basílio (No Azul Penumbra) and Sofia Afonso (Semeei Vermelho) will attend and join us for a post-screening Q&A.
