Porrina de Badajoz was one of the most emblematic flamenco singers of the 20th century. Born into a Romani family, he stood out for his unmistakable timbre and the unique way he interpreted fandangos, seguiriyas, and soleás. A friend of Amália Rodrigues, he maintained a fruitful professional collaboration with her – a sharing of influences that, through the languages of fado and flamenco, strengthened the cultural ties between Spain and Portugal. On the centenary of the singer’s birth, this show, which brings together 13 flamenco artists and two fado singers on stage, combines dance, song, and guitar as elements of an emotional tribute to Porrina and Amália, the Marquis of Flamenco and the Queen of Fado.
