Founded in 1995, the Barbatuques group is a global leader in body percussion, with a wide reach and over half a million followers on social media. Their unique and innovative approach consists of using the body itself as the primary instrument for creating complex sounds and rhythms. This concert, “Boa Noite, Povo,” celebrates the project’s evolution over three decades: from the tribal and folk sounds of their first album, Corpo do Som, to the new Barbatuques Convida, featuring Emicida, Lenine, Russo Passapusso, Vanessa Moreno, and other distinguished figures in Brazilian music, through the avant-garde experimentalism of O Seguinte é Esse, without losing sight of the rich harmonies of Ayú and other memorable moments from a journey made up not only of performances but also of workshops and social activities aimed at connecting people through music.
