The stage of the Helena Sá e Costa Theater will host one of the most eagerly awaited moments of this year's Rampa Jazz Festival on May 25 (Sunday) at 9 p.m.: the Carlos Bica Quartet concert, which brings together the historic bassist with three of the most creative musicians of the new generation of Portuguese jazz - José Soares (saxophone), Eduardo Cardinho (vibraphone) and Gonçalo Neto (guitar).
An inescapable figure in European jazz, Carlos Bica has built a unique career, marked by collaborations with theater, dance and cinema, and projects such as the AZUL trio, with Frank Möbus and Jim Black. His music, often described as modern, contagious and marked by an attentive listening to the world, crosses references from folk, jazz and contemporary classical music, composing sound narratives of great intimacy and intensity.
