This workshop, led by Luísa Saraiva, focuses on the mental health challenges faced by students and professionals in the performing arts. More than just a workshop, it is a space for listening and sharing, designed to explore, understand and learn how to manage anxiety and emotional burnout. In a demanding yet unstable working environment, where the constant need to balance financial sustainability and creative expression intersects, it is common to experience feelings of burnout and a disconnect from one's own goals.
The session is dedicated to deepening awareness of the systemic and individual factors involved in these processes, developing practical tools to strengthen emotional resilience, and creating a mutual support network amongst peers within the community.
The workshop begins with a physical practice focused on regulating breathing and the vagus nerve. This is followed by individual and group exercises on emotional management, stress and managing expectations. In the two sessions on 21 and 26 May, we will address different themes and strategies; it is possible to attend both or just one of the sessions.
