Visual Arts Workshop “Dream Tree”
Christmas message dedicated to the city of Porto — Christmas postcards and letters, guided by visual artist Joana Valente.
Porto is getting ready to celebrate the “most creative Christmas” on Saturday, December 13, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Ágora is promoting an afternoon of free cultural activities, including DJ sets, a Christmas concert, and creative workshops in drawing, illustration, ceramics, screen printing, and writing Christmas postcards and letters.
Participants will also be able to leave their message on the “Dream Tree,” a piece created by the artist Joana Valente. The public is invited to write a Christmas message dedicated to the city of Porto and revisit the exhibitions of the Simultaneous Openings, on view until January 17.
At the end, we will deliver all the dreams to the Hon. Mayor of Porto, Dr. Pedro Duarte, and the respective Municipal Executive.
In the Miguel Bombarda Quarter, everything has its rhythm and purpose: more than consuming, visitors will be able to create their own meaningful piece, filled with the true spirit of Christmas — sharing affection and happiness!
An initiative designed by Joana Valente with the support of Ana Silva — General and artistic direction, project/event/brand management of the Simultaneous Openings — Miguel Bombarda Cultural Quarter, Porto.
Visual artist Joana Valente, based in Porto, friend and enthusiast of the Miguel Bombarda Cultural Quarter, collaborates with projects supporting children with trisomy 21, is co-founder of “Eu Sou Eu – Association for the Social Inclusion of Children and Youth,” and exhibits regularly in the Simultaneous Openings. On December 13 she will present her solo project “Embracing the World” and lead an activity for children.
Open to all ages.
Materials will be provided on the day and at the event location.
