Traditional Portuguese folklore and fragments of family memories serve as the foundation for the project “Ainda Te Lembras?”, which will be presented at Sala Preta on May 16 and 17. Developed as part of the Alternative Project II course, under the guidance of Professor Maria Luís França, this performance—with text, dramaturgy, and acting by Andreia Magalhães and Sara Vizinho—brings to the stage what remains of childhood and what aging transforms into forgetfulness.
Synopsis
Between traditional Portuguese folklore and fragments of memory, two granddaughters explore remembrance: what remains in the body and what is forgotten. Sara and Andreia wander through longing, memory, loss, music, the feeling of home, childhood, and aging. “I believe we are here not only to give our grandmothers a hug and a ‘theatrical’ 'I love you,' but also to make space for our own and your memories of growing up, of going back in time, of becoming children again, alongside someone else.”
