Março 2026

March, March, you bring so many plans in hand

Once a niche universe, board games have become a social and cultural phenomenon that thrives and grows in dedicated spaces with programming for children and adults alike — largely thanks to the revolutionary power of face-to-face encounters. In this edition, Agenda Porto visited three such spaces in the city: Portal, Quebra-Dados and Ponto 2.

This month's Unzip Code is home to the Drawing Club, where, more than learning drawing techniques, you learn new ways of observing the world. Agenda Porto spoke to some of the members of this collective, pioneers in creating a space in the city dedicated to the training and promotion of drawing, which has been promoting a regular programme of exhibitions.

On 20 March, Rita Rocha will become one of the youngest artists to perform at the Coliseu do Porto in her own right. In this edition, you can read an interview with the 19-year-old singer-songwriter who spoke to us, among other topics, about this concert that will be ‘from 8 to 80’.

In Porto Syntax, we leafed through books and the city with Magda Cruz, a culture promoter and podcaster who has been living in Invicta for about six months. This month, the 8th season of her podcast dedicated to books, Ponto Final, Parágrafo, kicks off and will be recorded in Porto's municipal libraries.

In Porto de Alta Competição, we went to see the waves with Frederico Castelo Branco, a bodyboarder and one of the hopes of the sport. At 18, he has competed in several national competitions and has already made his debut in international competitions with good results.

And in this month's Chronicles of Porto's Eastern Distric, we visited a special place: Horta das Oliveiras.

The new exhibitions at the Municipal Gallery, the resistance cinema of Palestinian Kamal Aljafari at Batalha, the new performing arts event ℳ𝓊𝓁𝒶, which takes place from 20 to 22 March, with free programming in six independent venues across the city, and the celebrations of National Historic Centres Day on the 28th and 29th, marking 30 years since Porto's historic centre was classified as a World Heritage Site, are some of the highlights of this edition.

In March, there are dozens of events taking place throughout the city. Here is a list of suggestions for all tastes and ages.
