Here we are in June, the month of the summer solstice. And while the longest day of the year falls on the 21st, we already know that in Porto, the longest night takes place on the 23rd, when São João is celebrated throughout the city in a huge festival of joy and togetherness. As usual, alongside this month’s events, we’re sharing the official program for the São João festivities.

In this edition, we’ll visit different parts of the city to meet four community groups that serve as gathering places for neighbors and promote leisure and entertainment activities. They are: the Massarelos Residents’ Association; the Branco e Negro Vitória e Campanhã Association; the São Pedro de Miragaia Recreational and Sports Association; and the Aldoar Residents’ Association.

In the Unzip Code, we’re introducing the Águas Furtadas project, which spans several locations and spaces: Almada 13, the Cor Própria gallery, and the Padaria. It’s a platform, created by Rute Arnóbio, dedicated to promoting Portuguese and European artists, illustrators, ceramicists, and independent authors.

Porto de Alta Competição’s guest is Inês Duarte, a fencer who, at 17, has already won several titles, and in the ZOP Chronicle, we’ll get a feel for the Antas neighborhood on game day at the Dragão.
