Whether aboard a boat sailing up the Douro, in the gardens of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto, or at the Bouça Residents' Association, the watchword is to celebrate joy.
Another major event kicking off on August 22 is the Porto Book Fair, which this year will pay tribute to Sérgio Godinho. In the year and month of his 80th birthday, the musician and writer, born in Porto, will be the featured personality at the event, which has been held twelve times since returning in a revamped format. Agenda Porto spoke with this creator of characters and inventor of songs that populate our collective imagination.
The guest of Conjugar o Porto is also an artist: the painter António Bessa, better known as Mestre Bessa, set up his studio on Rua do Almada and likes to keep his doors open to passersby. We spoke with this artist, who assures us that his work “always has the touch of the people.”
