It was a year ago that Agenda Porto was born to be an aggregator of the ever-increasing number of cultural, artistic, sporting and leisure events taking place in the city. We'd like to thank the promoters, a fundamental part of the project: two thirds of the more than 5,000 events we publicised last year came to us through their hands. And, of course, we have to thank those who have adopted the Porto Agenda as their own: reading it in their mailbox, on their office computer, on their mobile phone, or in a printed brochure, folded and marked by use. All this is for you, for those who make plans... and for those who don't, too!
Over the course of 11 issues, we've spoken to dozens of artists, athletes, programmers and organisers, and shared many stories of those who make Porto their home and their inspiration. In 2025, we will continue to do so.
In this first issue, we met musicians who turn the street into the city's biggest concert hall, and we highlighted the 15th edition of the Porta-Jazz Festival, whose motto is ‘Against the clock, in favour of time’.
If in 2024, in Postal Code 4,000 or so, we visited associations and other organisations in Porto with many years of history and stories, in 2025 they will be ‘living’ in this space of the diary, cultural and artistic organisations and spaces that have emerged in Porto. We'll start with Hotelier, home to many concerts - and more - in Rua Anselmo Braamcamp. Neighbouring this space is Regina Guimarães, a multifaceted artist and author, who is the guest of Quem conta o Porto acrescenta um Ponto, a section that will also be published on paper.
In Conjugar o Porto, we went flying (without leaving the ground) with Manuel Cardoso. To do this, we went down to Ribeira to visit the workshop of this aeromodelling enthusiast, who has already lost count of the number of aeroplanes he has built.
The Rivoli Theatre celebrates its 93rd anniversary this month and, to mark the date, the Portography section is dedicated to an object that is part of the history of this emblematic theatre in the city.
