Serpente - Contemporary Art Gallery began its activity in 1998. In addition to promoting the artists it works with, its primary objective is to create the concept of place, a place where ideas, modes of artistic procedure and aesthetic alignments are confronted, essentially determined by the geography of Current Art.

It presents exhibitions that cover the problem of contemporary art in its various guises. It focuses on Photography and Installation/Site Specific, although it also organises exhibitions of Sculpture, Painting and Drawing.
