INSTITUTO arose from the desire to activate an old warehouse which, like a significant part of the buildings in the centre of Porto, had been abandoned for several decades. In 2018, the building was rehabilitated by Paulo Moreira Architectures, who set up his studio there and created INSTITUTO as an extension of his practice. The INSTITUTO is now managed by Tamanho Azul - Associação, the entity that formalises the team that helped form and consolidate the project.
