Located in the former Freixo thermoelectric power station, CRL - Central Elétrica is a centre for residencies and artistic creation that seeks to give new meaning to part of this disused industrial hub, pulsating and generating other forms of energy.

At the core of CRL - Central Elétrica's thinking is the idea of a permanent laboratory, a place to investigate, experiment, create and share. A place for risk, for developing ideas and testing possibilities. A place where generations and geographies cross paths, where artists meet at different stages of their journey: more or less emerging, more or less established.
