Zamaan زمان

Zamaan is a collective and artistic platform, founded in Portugal with roots in Palestine. It is dedicated to elevating and amplifying the voices of Arab, BIPOC, queer and migrant artists from the SWANA region, the diaspora and beyond, always without limits, creating space within both Portuguese and international cultural programming.

Zamaan arrives in Porto for the very first time, at the iconic Passos Manuel, with a night of heritage, resistance and sonic futures.

Headlining is the live performance of ONLY NOW (IN/USA), the Indo-Californian project of Kush Arora, where deconstructed Punjabi rhythms, industrial, dancehall and noise collide to reimagine identity and memory.

The night continues with a special b2b by SAYA (ES/PS) and LIONESSA (EG/CA):

SAYA, founder of the Zamaan collective, is a multi-genre DJ, music researcher and anti-racist activist. Her sets weave batida, Arab club, gqom, rave funk, hard drums and deconstructed club into sonic journeys that affirm the anti-racist struggle through music.

LIONESSA is a queer Egyptian-Canadian DJ based in Vancouver. Her sets fuse Egyptian percussion and mahraganat with underground global sounds, always inspired by street culture and resistance.
