Three Dimensions of a Shared History
The sixth edition offers a look at three central dimensions of the identity of the Misericórdias. Assistance emerges as a mission spanning centuries; legacy translates individual commitment into collective benefit; and heritage preserves the material and immaterial testimonies of this presence over time.
At the Misericórdia of Porto, this heritage remains visible in the institution’s trajectory, its relationship with the city, the collections it houses, and its vast preserved documentary archives. The Congress thus brings these different perspectives into dialogue once again, while also welcoming contributions focused on other Santas Casas.
