The Real Orquestra do Porto, recognized by the Royal Family of Portugal and particularly by H.R.H. Dom Afonso de Bragança, its Patron, is a cultural initiative of the Real Associação do Porto that promotes public interest and enthusiasm for music.
Performing solo or in collaboration with other artistic groups, it seeks to cultivate broad public appreciation for diverse musical styles. Its repertoire features works for festive and solemn occasions, including emblematic pieces by Portuguese and international composers from the Baroque to the Contemporary periods. Marches, anthems, and light or popular music complete a repertoire as wide-ranging as it is capable of inspiring the lively enthusiasm of all types of audiences.
