Unsafe Space Garden are one of the most unique and captivating bands on the new Portuguese music scene. Since 2019, this collective from Guimarães has been forging a path where music, humour and sharing go hand in hand. Their songs often stem from sensitive themes, yet they find a way to transform them into something relatable, vibrant and full of light. There is awareness and there is criticism, but there is also care, subtlety and a very clear desire to better understand the world and the place we occupy within it. With four albums released in five years, Unsafe Space Garden have established their own distinct identity, both in the studio and on stage. In 2026, the band released O Melhor e o Pior da Música Biológica, a new full-length album sung entirely in Portuguese. On this album, they delve deeper into their connection with the Portuguese musical tradition – from oral storytelling to fado and the alternative music of the 1970s and 1980s – blending it with contemporary influences such as disco, funk, house and drum & bass.
